About the Turkey Trot: Every November, Peekskill does something wonderful. Hundreds of our neighbors lace up their shoes, strap turkeys into strollers and backpacks, and then run or walk right through the heart of downtown. Our runners aren’t aiming for a record-breaking finish time; they're racing to feed a family down the street. That's the Turkey Trot!

This is one of our favorite days of the year, but it's also one of our most necessary. Food insecurity in Peekskill doesn't take a holiday, and the weeks before Thanksgiving are when Fred's Pantry sees some of its highest need. The Turkey Trot meets that need head-on. Every turkey donated is paired with a special grocery bag of holiday staples, so each Fred's Pantry guest leaves with a full Thanksgiving meal (not just the centerpiece).

We're inviting you to bring your friends, family, and anyone in between to participate in a race that's genuinely fun and community-wide – and behind the families who will sit at a full table because of it.
