CHHOP Receives HUD Grant for Nationally Competitive Domestic Violence Project

February 20, 2019
Peekskill, NY -- We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to receive an annually renewable grant for a nationally competitive domestic violence project. Project RISE (Rehousing In Supportive Environments) is a holistic program by design and collaborative in its approach.
Caring for the Hungry & Homeless of Peekskill (CHHOP) will offer eight transitional units and 16 Rapid Rehousing units throughout Westchester County to homeless, domestic violence survivors and their families. Working with our partners, we will provide supportive case management, employment services and domestic violence counseling services.
A primary obstacle to survivors of domestic violence in their journey to safety and security, is lack of housing. Through the combination of rental assistance and supportive services targeting to the unique needs of homeless domestic violence survivors, we can make a significant difference in the lives of survivors and their families.
We look forward to updating you as the project develops!
